

RESEDA, LOS ANGELES (KABC) — Los Angeles police shot and killed a man late Sunday afternoon in Reseda after responding to a report of a gunman shooting into an apartment building, authorities said.
The deadly confrontation occurred shortly before 6 p.m. in the 6400 block of Reseda Boulevard, near Victory Boulevard.
Officers arrived at the scene and spotted the suspect, who ran into an apartment complex,” the Los Angeles Police Department said in a statement.
“An LAPD airship was overhead and reported that the suspect appeared to fire his handgun at the airship,” the statement said. “At this point in the investigation it doesn’t appear the airship was struck by the suspect’s gunfire.”

According to police, the suspect then ran to an alley behind the apartment building, “where officers made contact with him and an officer involved shooting occurred.”
The unidentified suspect was pronounced dead at the scene. Video from AIR7 a white sheet covering the man’s body in the alley.
No officers were injured in the incident, an LAPD spokesperson said.
The suspect’s handgun was recovered at the location, police said.
