
A school bus traveling from Lakewood to New York State overturned on the Garden State Parkway in Bergen County Monday evening, injuring 14 kids and the driver, police said.
One of the children was seriously injured, according to the New Jersey State Police.
The northbound bus veered off the highway and overturned near the James Gandolfini Service Area in Montvale at 7:39 p.m., State Police said.
The 44-year-old Lakewood man driving the bus had moderate injuries and 13 children sustained minor injuries when the bus crashed near milepost 170.5, authorities said.
Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali told NJ Advance Media there were 31 people on the bus and one child was thrown from the vehicle.

The bus was traveling from Lakewood to New York State, according to Montvale Mayor Mike Ghassali and Gov. Phil Murphy.
ABC7ny.com reported the bus was transporting Yeshiva students to an event celebrating the birth of a rabbi’s grandchild.
